How to make a new mailing list in PHP Mail

March31

1. Go to “lists”
Hit add a list (at the bottom)
Name it, check the box to make it active, in the order box put the next number, so if you have 2 lists, put in 3. This is no big deal if you get the number wrong, it is just the order the lists are put in. Hit save

2.Go to “manage users”
Your import file needs to be a .csv file. You can save an Excel file as a comma delimited or csv file. Do that and save it to your Documents. Make sure the email column in the file is named “email” not e-mail or agentemail or anything else.

3. Click import users
Choose the first option, import with different values as attributes. Check the list name you’re importing to. In the field delimiter box put a comma. Check omit invalid. Click make confirmed immediately. Hit import.

and that is it!

Red Toad is a-changin’

You might notice our new web site. The blog.

What you may not know is we’ve spent the last two years researching the best way to build web sites. Reworking our process (and it has been a bumpy ride, we’ve made some mistakes along the way.) Rethinking what people need.

We want to build beautiful, effective, custom web sites that people can find on search engines.

That hasn’t been so easy because the web has changed. The culture has changed. The business climate has changed. It’s been really important to take the time and make the mistakes so we could get better and change too.

We’ve refined and reworked things now and we hope to offer a better product and want you to know that. Hope you’ll tell us how we’re doing.

Questions to ask before you put up a web site

March30

1. What traits do your customers have in common other than the fact they all buy from you?

2. About those people who do not buy from you… are they buying elsewhere because they have heard about you? Do you have issues with your reputation?

3. What questions are people asking before they purchase? Those are the ones you need to answer on your web site.

4. How good is your business location? This can apply to domain and to brick and mortar. A domain name matters to search engines. Your web hosting also matters. You’ll be found more easily with a name that relates to your keywords. If you’re local, local hosting makes a difference.

But also consider your brick and mortar location. You might have to spend a lot more on advertising a poor location, and even then, you might not be as effective as you could be.

It might be worth it to think on moving.

5. How consistently is your staff delivering the experience you’ve crafted for your customer? You might need to work on training along with and before you build a web site. See #2 in this list.

6. Do you know the prices of your competitors in your product or service category? You’d better.

7. Are you anxious to find a more effective media?
Because this is a mistake. If you have the right message, the media you use to get it out there will be effective. If you’re using a media right now and the message is not so effective, then you need to re-examine the message.
