Setting Marketing Goals for your Website

Do you know where you are with your website?

That may sound like a funny question, but you'd be surprised how many people have no idea how many monthly visitors their website has. They don't know their online reach. They don't measure the success of what they are doing. They don't know if there are online reviews posted about them, if people are talking about them or their employees. They just don't know. Do you?

Do you know where you want your website to go?

A clear vision of where you want to go and what specific outcomes you want to achieve is crucial to your success. You start by mapping out your general vision and then move to specific action steps.

What vehicle will best take you to your destination?
We talk alot about how a website is like a car. People ask us what a website costs. We answer, "What does a car cost? " It depends. What kind do you want? There are economy models and luxury models and workhorses that perform well under lots of pressure. Do you have an idea of what vehicle you need? (We can help with that.)

Who do you want your website to reach?

Your audience needs to be divided into personas and your web copy needs to speak to those personas. A persona is a detailed profile of a real person that you use as a target to sell to. You should have 2-3 representative personas that you target with various levels of calls to action.

What should your website say?

We lean towards being as truthful and transparent as possible. We advise others to do the same. In this age of organic food and reality television, people do not trust sales jargon and canned messages. They want authentic, factual, smart products and services and they want them now. Can you deliver? We can help.
